The locals called it "Village Museum", the National Ethnographic Park "Romulus Vuia" is located near one of the largest and richest forests of Cluj, Hoia, continuation that starts with Citadel Hill in downtown Cluj.


Ethnographic Park "Romulus Vuia" in Cluj, is the first open-air ethnographic museum in Romania and the sixth in Europe, is part of the Ethnographic Museum.

The museum can be visited from Tuesday - Sunday (Monday closed) between the hours: 9.00 - 17.00 (last entry 16.00)

History of the Village Museum:

National Ethnographic Park "Romulus Vuia" was founded in 1929 and is named after the first director and founder, Professor Romulus Vuia. Located in the Hoia forrest in Cluj-Napoca, the park is divided into two thematic areas: "Technical installations and workshops" (30 technical installations and 6 case-workshop) and "regional types of households and monuments of folk architecture" (12 households complete peasant from different ethnographic regions of Transylvania).

Avram Iancu Monument

Avram Iancu monument Cluj-Napoca, Romania


The Avram Iancu Monument is located in the center of the square with the same name. On one side and the other is the Orthodox Cathedral and National Theater "Lucian Blaga" with the Romanian Opera.

Around the statue was built a beautiful fountain which jets of water moves on melodic lines and different colors.
The sculpture which is found today in Avram Iancu Square was created by sculptor Elias Berindei.

In Hoia Forest in Cluj are many green spaces and places where various activities take place annually and events specially designed for mountain bike trail.

The northern slope of Hoia is covered with a mixed forest of hornbeam, corn, hazelnut, wild apple, acacia, oak and so on, with many flowering meadows where regularly take place various concerts.

Hoia is known worldwide for the presence of paranormal phenomena, but they have little scientific basis studied. However, in 1968 one person photographed a UFO. The photo looks authentic, in the opinion of experts.

The Ethnographic Museum - Str. Memorandum 21.
It was founded on June 16, 1922, one of the main museums of our country. The museum has a collection of over 65,000 pieces. Exhibits are organized strictly in a modern design, offering visitors a realistic depiction of material and spiritual culture of the population of Transylvania. In this building took place between 1894-1895 the famous Trial Memorandum, which were written in all European newspapers of the time.



NATIONAL MUSEUM OF HISTORY OF TRANSYLVANIA - Ctin Daicoviciu Street 2
It was founded on November 23, 1859, composed of a rich heritage of 336.130 pieces depicting the history of Transylvania. Here is presented a metallic object found in Aiud in 1973, whose age has been established as minimum 3000 years.



MUSEUM Emil Isac - Str. Emil Isac
It was founded in 1955, a year after his death. Located on the street that bears his name, the museum works in the house inhabited by Isaac family since 1895. The museum includes three rooms. First exposed documents on the life and work of the poet, the second being dedicated to his father Dr. Aurel Isac, lawyer, is the room of the poet, preserved exactly. In this room is an impressive library with about 1700 books in different languages, many of them autographed by the authors
